FOUNDER'S JOURNEY
For the first 18 years of her life, Sampada wanted to be a zoologist. In a way, that curiosity never left—she still observes movement, emotion, and instinct, only now through a camera instead of a microscope.
Photography began with looking. Looking closely at people, clothes, objects, light, spaces and the small decisions that change how something is perceived. Over time, photography became more than making a good frame. It became a way of understanding how an idea could become an image.
A graduate of Istituto Marangoni, Milan, Sampada brings over 11 years of commercial experience and an international creative sensibility to every frame infused with the pulse of India.
Working between fashion photography and filmmaking expanded that perspective further. A photograph could hold a moment. Film could build an atmosphere. Direction could bring all the individual elements together.
Moving between fashion photography and filmmaking expanded that perspective further. A photograph can hold a moment. Film can build an atmosphere. Direction brings the individual elements together, shaping how an idea is imagined, developed and ultimately seen.
That eventually led to Studio Sampada Ravindra.
Not as a traditional production company, and not simply as an extension of a photographer's practice, but as a creative practice where concept, direction, photography and film come together under one visual vision.
Based in Mumbai, Sampada has worked across fashion, beauty, and luxury, delivering imagery that balances creative intent with commercial impact. Her work includes collaborations with names such as Bloni by Akshat Bansal, Le Coq Sportif, Bonaveri and HUL, alongside homegrown fashion labels, jewellery houses and emerging D2C brands.
Her visual language draws inspiration from architecture, art, nature, cinema and imagined worlds.
Studio Sampada Ravindra believes the best work happens in the space between vision and execution—through collaboration, curiosity and conversation.
